SUNDAY (sorry, all my Saturdays are booked)
February 16th, 2003
Launch Time: 10 am from Walker County Park |
Hammersley Inlet
Ride the current from Walker County Park out to Arcadia/Hope Island and
back on the flood. The current really moves through the narrow
inlet, but it is very sheltered from the elements. This is a trip
for intermediate paddling skills.

Driving Directions |
Approximately 13 NM of distance, but with
moderate current assist. There may be some eddies to cross, but they
should be minor, and easily avoidable if desired. Please
send me an E-mail if you are coming, so I can get an accurate head-count! Max
ebb at 10:05 AM at 2 knots
Slack at 1:00 PM
Max flood at 2:53 PM at 1.54 knots
Measured 1 mile from the mouth of Hammersley inlet. |
Saturday
March 15th, 2003
Launch Time: 10:30 am from the Mercer Slough Nature Park
|
Paddle from the wetlands of the Mercer Slough
into Lake Washington to check out the interesting homes and the city views
from the water.
With some nice Spring Weather, this is a wonderful family trip.

Some
information about the Park/Launch area |
April and beyond--because I no longer have internet access, I cannot update the site and plan trips. Hopefully some folks can continue to get together using e-mail lists or another site! |
|
E-mail
me with ideas if you have a trip you'd like to see |
E-mail me at Woodenkayaker@hotmail.com
if you are planning to come, or have any questions.
The trips are NOT guided trips,
but rather just a get together of people who build wooden kayaks. The pace
will generally be slow to moderate. Of course, all types of kayaks are
welcome. Please make sure to bring the appropriate clothing, safety gear,
lunch, and water, and try to check the site before leaving in the morning for
any last minute changes in plans/conditions.

I plan to start building
a list of e-mails of interested folks, so let me know if I should add you to a
list to send out notification about trips.
